How the Chrome extension runs axe on the open tab, why incomplete results stay incomplete, and what a report can claim.
Install
Load the unpacked dist folder while developing, or install the packaged zip when a store listing exists. Open a normal page and click the icon. axe is injected into that tab only.
What axe covers
The run uses WCAG 2 A/AA, 2.1 AA and 2.2 AA tags. Findings are grouped per rule with the WCAG criterion, level and a help link, plus a page overlay that badges every match.
Free vs Pro
Free: the full scan above, filters, the badge overlay, single-element highlight, three manual quick checks and Markdown export. Pro: a branded PDF report, CSV/JSON export, multi-page site scans, a focus-order overlay, a contrast checker, vision simulators, the full WCAG 2.2 checklist, scan history and per-domain rule configuration.
Licence key and trial
Start a 7-day trial from the Pro card in the panel or on the Pro page: no card, one trial per email, the key arrives by mail. A subscription key works the same way. Entitlement is cached for an hour and stays valid offline for up to 7 days on a lapsed connection.
Site scan and permissions
The extension requests access to http and https sites up front, so the free scan keeps working as you move from page to page (Chrome would otherwise revoke access on every navigation). A Pro site scan uses that same access to open up to 25 same-origin pages in background tabs, scan each, then close them.
Rule configuration
Pro lets you add AAA and best-practice tags to the scan, or ignore a specific rule on a domain. Both are stored per domain in the browser, not on the report.
Limits
Automated checks cannot establish accessibility conformance. Incomplete axe items stay needs review. Keyboard, meaning and mobile remain manual. This is not a certificate.
Privacy
Analysis stays in the browser until you export or send a help request. ultimAItech does not receive the page HTML from a local scan.
